Remote Internship Experience - Global Health
Think Pacific’s Virtual Internship Experience enables students to expand their cultural intelligence, consider global perspectives specific to their chosen career field and develop professional skills within an international framework.
Join us for a 1-week program in August to enhance your CV and your perspectives – in partnership with the Fijian Government and South Pacific NGO’s.
- 1-week virtual internship experience (16th – 20th August 2021).
- Learn about Global Health, Health promotion & Health challenges – within the context of the South Pacific.
- Complete our Fijian Culture & Sustainable Development learning modules.
- Consider global challenges including social issues, poverty and the impacts of COVID-19 upon public health in Fiji.
- Complete a group project, focused on how to tackle public health challenges, to support the achievement of the Fiji National Development Plan & UN Sustainable Development Goals.
- Learn from Fijian professionals and connect with like-minded students.
- Develop professional skills whilst discussing and developing ideas to positively impact global health.
- Gain a Global Internship Experience Certificate to add to your CV, Linkedin & job applications.

Workshop 1 – 10am = Mindset & Briefing
- Introduction to your Global Health program with Think Pacific.
- The mindset for success in your Internship Experience.
- Goal setting.
Workshop 2 – 1pm = Understanding Fiji & the South Pacific
- An exploration of Fiji’s history, culture and customs.
- Present day and mindset.
- How to gain a local perspective.
- Immersive and fun modules/ live sessions and videos – language, food, dancing, tradition.
Workshop 1 – 10am = Global Health through a Fijian Lens
- Learn the basics about Public Health, Health Promotion & Mental Health in Fiji
- How do the UN Sustainable Dev Goals and the Fiji National Development Plan link to Public Health, Health Promotion & Mental Health in the Fiji Islands?
Workshop 2 – 3pm = Exploring the Challenges
- Real life global health group challenges are introduced and discussed.
Workshop 1 – 7pm = Perspectives From Public Health Leaders in Fiji.
- Learn from a local experts and health professionals via a live panel discussion.
Workshop 1 – 10am = Skills Series (How to Complete Your Project)
- Workshop exploring remote working skills such as self-leadership, resilience, time management.
- Develop your Presentation skills.
- Project based skills such as creating a policy, creating resources, creating awareness campaigns etc.
Workshop 2 – 1pm = Challenges & Group Project Assigned
- You will be given a public health challenge and a group to collaborate with.
- Your group will be tasked with creating a presentation of your findings for Friday afternoon.
- Our Think Pacific team will be there to mentor you.
Workshop 1 – 10am = Morning Meeting + Global Challenge Project Work
- Morning meeting to set goals for the day and ask any questions.
- Students continue to work in groups to discuss, form opinions and create solutions.
Workshop 2 – 1pm = Global Challenge Project Work + Virtual Office
- Students continue to work in groups to discuss, form opinions and create solutions.
- Virtual office support form Think Pacific team.
Workshop 1 – 10am = Morning Meeting + Global Challenge Project Work
- Morning meeting to set goals for the day and ask any questions.
- Students continue to work in groups to discuss, form opinions and create solutions.
Workshop 2 – 1pm = Group Presentations
- Each group provides a 5-10 minute presentation.
Workshop 3 – 4.30pm = Group Debrief
- Summary of key ideas and long term reflections gained from Fiji.
- How to utilise your internship experience to increase employability.
