Mission, Vision and Values
The 'Why' Behind Corals for Conservation

What are your mission and values?
Coral reefs are in a crisis due to climate change, over fishing and pollution. Our coral gardening methods offer a practical solution to keeping corals alive for decades to come. To achieve our mission, we prioritize three key areas: building bleaching-resistant super coral gardens, involving the community in managing their marine protected areas, and partnering with resorts to mainstream sustainable strategies to protect and enjoy their beautiful reefs.

What are your long term aims and vision for your organization, ministry or business?

1. To build necessary national and regional partnerships with National ministries and non-government bodies to facilitate the aims of our work.

2. To receive national and regional endorsements of our programs

3. To access global funding allocated to coral conservation and climate change related work and to gain widespread support and endorsement.

What are your long term aims and vision for Fiji?

1. Climate Change Adaptation: Increased resilience of coral reefs through the establishment of heat-adapted coral populations, safeguarding vital ecosystems against future marine heat waves.

2. Preservation of Biodiversity: Enhanced biodiversity in marine areas through targeted restoration efforts and the implementation of Nature-based Solutions.

3. Gender Equity, Disability, and Social Inclusion: Empowerment of marginalized groups, particularly women and youth, by prioritizing their involvement in decision-making processes and providing training in sustainable livelihoods.
