Be An Inspiration PTE LTD ( BAI FARMS)
We would like to create our farm, a place where we can enjoy both rugby and farming together especially to our own children.

What are your mission and values?
BE AN INSPIRATION PTE LTD launched the Agro-Rugby Initiative to integrate agriculture training into sport development to address the socio-economic challenges faced by youth athletes in Fiji. The program aims to provide sustainable livelihoods for youth by equipping them with agricultural skills and knowledge, thereby facilitating their transition to life after sports.
What are your long term aims and vision for your organisation, ministry or business?
Empowering Youth Through Agriculture and Sports Development
The Agro-Rugby Initiative envisions a future where young athletes in Fiji have sustainable livelihoods after sports. By integrating agriculture training with sports development, we aim to equip youth with skills in agroforestry, regenerative farming, and value-added production, fostering their transition to meaningful careers that contribute to their communities and the nation’s growth.
Establishing Demonstration Farms and Agroforestry Systems
We aim to create demonstration farms as learning hubs where youth and communities can engage in hands-on training in climate-smart agriculture and agroforestry. These systems not only combat land degradation and build environmental resilience but also serve as a model for sustainable farming practices that can be replicated nationwide.
Building Infrastructure for Economic Sustainability
A key vision of the Agro-Rugby Initiative is to establish processing facilities and cooperative models that enable the production of value-added products such as breadfruit and root crop flours. These facilities will provide a consistent source of income to sustain the initiative while supporting Fiji’s transition to healthier, locally sourced alternatives to imported goods.
Promoting Health and Nutrition Through Traditional Crops
The initiative aligns with Fiji’s broader goals to address non-communicable diseases (NCDs) by promoting traditional diets and crops like breadfruit. By linking agriculture to health and nutrition education, we aim to create awareness about the benefits of traditional foods, fostering healthier communities.
Fostering Community Resilience and Climate Action
Through agroforestry practices and youth-led farming cooperatives, the initiative seeks to restore degraded lands, mitigate the impacts of climate change, and build disaster resilience. This approach not only protects Fiji’s natural environment but also strengthens its communities against future challenges.
Strengthening National Identity and Cultural Heritage
The Agro-Rugby Initiative embodies the principles of teamwork, resilience, and cultural pride, which are at the heart of both rugby and agriculture in Fiji. By blending these elements, we aim to instill a renewed sense of national identity and responsibility toward Fiji’s land and people.
What are your long term aims and vision for Fiji?
Focused on creating a sustainable model that empowers youth, strengthens rural livelihoods, and builds climate resilience, while fostering a sense of purpose and pride in Fiji’s cultural and environmental heritage. Ultimately, the Agro-Rugby Initiative envisions a future where agriculture and sports serve as pillars of sustainable development, creating empowered youth, thriving communities, and a resilient Fiji.

Key barriers in the areas of capital expansion for infrastructure, staffing, and product research and development. Expanding the initiative requires investment in processing facilities, cold storage, and dormitories for youth trainees. Limited funding for product research and development is a significant barrier to innovation. Developing and testing new value-added products, such as gluten-free flours or nutritious snack alternatives, requires investment in R&D. This includes conducting market research, engaging with chefs and nutritionists, and developing recipes that cater to both domestic and international markets.
Scaling up production also requires investment in quality assurance systems, certifications, and packaging innovations to meet market standards. Accessing grants tailored to community-driven, youth-focused projects to support these expansions has been a challenge.
