Out of all of our offerings, these programmes are for anyone! They are designed to be fun, informative and perspective challenging with equal measures of field trips and activities.
- Adventure – These programmes are a good mix between sector orientated learning and fun activities in awesome locations.
- Variety – Every day is different! These are fast paced, engaging and guaranteed to give you a great time. You couldn’t really do or see more in two weeks…
- Travel – Due to the structure of the programme, you will see much more of a location choosing one of these tours.
- Team – Central to the tour experience is getting to know your team and growing, learning and contributing together.
Every one of our travel programmes puts cultural immersion at the front and centre of the experience… You will experience authentic culture from those who live it everyday of their lives.
Throughout each of our travel programmes, we encourage team members to intentionally reflect on key themes which may help them look introspectively from looking externally. Reflection sessions take place at the beginning and end of the tour.
As these itineraries take you around a location, we make sure to include as many activities we can… heck, the whole thing is an adventure.
Getting off your phone (and ironically losing connection) leads to a very different sense of connection. We want team members to connect with the world, nature, others and themselves. (Don’t worry, there will be times to use your phone too.)
It’s hard to take on the adventure of a lifetime and not takeaway some special memories. We’ll be pushing you out of your comfort zone and you’ll be having some special experiences.
Each one of our immersion tours is undertaken in team, meaning you share the experience with those around. As you can imagine, tight bonds are formed and those memories will always remain.
It’s hard to give a typical itinerary as they are all unique, but generally our immersive travel programmes follow a similar pattern of:
There are plenty of opportunities for team fun in between the field trips and traveling… we make sure to work in some of what the destinations have on offer into the itinerary.
How are they created? How do they work?
Every programme is designed with you in mind – your interests, your wellbeing, and your future. Each programme is based around a theme, allowing you to understand that subject in new depths.
And while you gain experience, clarity, and confidence, your presence also supports local communities and organisations through ethical engagement, funding, and knowledge exchange.
This isn’t just a trip abroad. This is a stepping stone towards a more confident, resilient, and globally conscious you.
Each of our Immersive Travel programmes is based around a theme, allowing you to choose a subject you would like to look into in more depth in another context / culture, or experience. Themes on offer depend on the specialization of the location, each has it’s own start date and it’s own team. Each itinerary looks different to allow those joining to see that subject uniquely in a location. Some examples for themes we deliver on include:
- Culture and History
- Social Enterprise
- Environment and Conservation
- Language
- Art and Dance
- Mental and Physical Health
- Sport
- Etc.
We prioritize local providers for transport as part of our regenerative tourism model, and this is all included in your programme fee! Your team will travel around as a group, together, taking the journey at the same pace and at the same time.
Of all the programme categories we offer, you see more of a country on an immersive tour. This means you stay in multiple accommodations across the experience! As with other aspects of the programme design, we will always prioritize locally led accommodations as part of a regenerative tourism model, giving you a more authentic experience that invests in the countries in which you travel.
Each Immersive Travel Programme contributes towards our Global Impact Model. Simply through joining, you are contributing towards a global effort to boost the capacity growth of amazing local organisations and invest in communities.
Up to 80% of your trip cost stays in the local economy.
Unlike traditional travel programs where much of the cost leaks out to international operators, Think Pacific’s approach prioritizes local ownership, fair wages, and sustainable reinvestment, empowering communities long after you’ve returned home.
10% of your programme fee goes directly towards funding our Foundation in the global destination that you travel to… ensuring targeted and sustainable investment in the achievement of local goals.
Foundations:
- Are a fundamental body in our organisational model that displays and provides a vessel to allow resources generated through our enterprise to be directed locally
- They provide a deliverable model that champions local impact aside from business growth; harnessing the benefit of raising resources through travel and tourism for the benefit of impact in a location. Foundations are a demonstrable body that exists purely for this and hold the wider operational body accountable.
- Demonstrable investment at a local level that is led by data. This can be shown to be beyond investment purely to meet the demands of programme delivery.
- Being specific to the location (being locally led and registered locally) avoids cultural reductionism globally and allows for legitimate and targeted impact through local guidance and leadership.
- A fully functional Foundation with strong partnerships informs the design and intended outcomes of the programmes we deliver (what’s the end purpose, how do the two link?)
- Invest in capacity building of NGOs away from the participation of international students, empowering their operations as they are, and will be.
- Do not need to exist, but they act as a surplus of support, a net positive, they provide more good existing than if they didn’t.
- Although, they do not need to exist (= no dependency).
- Fund and create reciprocal opportunities for local students which ensures international students are not taking opportunities from local labour / students, it’s actually creating more of them.
We deliver our international programmes in a few formats, in a few locations, each one serving a different purpose that is guided by the destination of delivery.
Each programme is carefully designed to target specific aims for local development.
What is consistent, however, is no matter what programme you join, we can guarantee that every programme we deliver:
- Gives you the opportunity for innovative contribution towards development aims
- Provides a platform for healthy cross-cultural exchange
- Creates a financial influx into non-traditional spaces in society within the tourism sector
-
-
- Eg. Local transport / accommodation options / Etc.
-
- Is a form of travel that juxtaposes other models of tourism which are more damaging for a country’s culture, autonomy and economy
- Funds locally registered Foundations
-
- These Foundation support our expert local partner organisation in their capacity growth to achieve their aims
- Funds reciprocal opportunity creation for local students in the locations in which we deliver

Because we exist and operate in the way we do, as a for-impact organisation within the realm of travel, the nature of that impact needs to be carefully considered and monitored, we have a responsibility to.
We find ourselves operating within a sector that can easily be delivered unethically; becoming exploitative of the cultures and societies in which we operate in, leveraging global challenges or the resources of other countries for business gain and perpetuating unequal power dynamics in global discourse.
Unfortunately, we believe there are organisations that are well meaning but could arguably come under those categories. This may not be intentional, but instead built on dated models of impact grounded in well meaning but misguided motivations to travel abroad and unrealistic ideas of sustainable impact and empowerment.
Whether a model is considered ethical or not comes down to how the programmes are structured and how our overall impact model is communicated and actualised. Being clear of the roles within this model are important.
