Global Travel Bursaries Available
The University of Essex typically offers financial support to students undertaking approved international experiences through a combination of internal departmental funding and the UK Government’s Turing Scheme.
- For the current academic year, funding is expected to be very limited and is not guaranteed. Any financial support that may be available is subject to funding availability, eligibility criteria, and individual circumstances.
- Where funding is awarded, amounts can vary depending on factors such as household income, destination, and duration of the programme.
- Students are strongly encouraged to plan on the basis that funding may not be awarded, and to view any financial support as a potential contribution rather than a guaranteed source of funding.

Application Process
- Apply online with Think Pacific and complete an interview with a member of the team to reserve a space on a project.
- Contact the university via eagrants@essex.ac.uk to request to be considered for funding.
- Confirm your place with Think Pacific.
