Blog and Annual Report Overview Written by Tom Scrase, Project Cooridnator and Social Media Lead, Think Pacific π΄
The start of 2023 through to the end of 2024 has seen the continuation of an incredible growth period for Think Pacific, across all areas of the organisation. We have launched new projects and new roles within the team; fostering new partnerships in Fiji, Bali and excitingly now Thailand!
Year after year, there has never been a more diverse array of projects and programs delivered at Think Pacific, with innovations being tested and project components being further refined. Across all operations, the growth potential has never been more prominent and the success of delivery this year is a testament to where our International operations and bespoke approach can take us.
The past year was always going to be a big oneβ¦especially with the launch and delivery of in-country projects in Bali. We’re delighted to recognise the undisputed successes of our first projects outside of Fiji. From partners to participants, we are immensely grateful for all those who have supported and helped to make these projects a reality.

I am incredibly proud of the efforts of everyone who has been involved in the delivery of our programs in the last year. As cliche as it sounds, it is true; all that has been achieved would not have been possible without the tireless dedication and enthusiasm that so many individuals put into their work. From every project leader to management; the Think Pacific team has exemplified the passion that drives us. As an organisation, we’ve supported UNSDGs and showcased that Think Pacific can implement successful growth strategies globally. The success of this expansion and projects delivered this year in Bali proves a testament to the structure, delivery and support found when joining a Think Pacific project.
In terms of successes, the figures in our annual reports demonstrate the astounding scale and nature of achievements in Fiji and Bali. Financial investment into Fiji reached $2.5 million, with an experienced in-country team allowing for increased capacity and an even greater impact! Participants of our community development projects stated a 95% increase in confidence, resilience and communication skills. With a 110% increase in female sports participation, since 22/23, we are delighted to see the continued success of our Youth programs and the importance of more established M&E processes improving engagement and outcomes for all involved.

Despite it being our first year of delivery in Bali, we were delighted to have 288 project participants and interns join across our three new programs (Education & Youth – Mental Health – Global Team Internship). 80% of the participants, from a mix of 58 International universities, stated they improved their personal growth. 75% expressed they improved their professional skills. We welcome all feedback and are excited as an organisation to continually improve our project offering: ensuring that we best meet and exceed the needs of our partners and those participating in our projects in the months and years to come.
Building on the establishment of ‘Think Global Bali’, we were delighted to introduce projects catered to Further Education Colleges; a recent and exceptionally successful addition to our in-country delivery offering. Recognising our strengths, we have been able to heighten our impact towards our partnersβ goals and organisationally refine our focus and delivery style: adapting to different requirements and outperforming expectations of all involved.
The team in Bali also led the first Professionals in Global Mobility Program (PGM), swiftly followed by a PGM in Fiji. The program allows current or prospective partners to explore and experience a Think Pacific programme in-country. We aim for this to be a yearly occurrence.

Simultaneously, our Remote Internship and Study Tour programs have gone from strength to strength as we’ve forged new local partnerships and seen higher levels of engagement than ever before with a record 1086 Interns completing their Internship Action Projects
Ultimately, we have strived in all we do to ensure international cultural exchange opportunities are accessible and life-changing for allβ¦I would say Think Pacific has continued our progress in establishing ourselves as an official facilitator of international education, an industry-leading professional experience platform and a leader in responsible and impactful community-based tourism. Our range of program delivery has highlighted to University staff, key partners, international participants and local stakeholders; our commitment to inspiring cultural exchange, locally led real-world impact and outstanding in-country pastoral care.

We recognise that there is always room for improvement and growth. As ever, we are hungry for it. With our expansion to Thailand set in motion; we continue to reflect and act on feedback from all stakeholders as we forge new horizons this coming year.
With 2025 well underway, we are excited to continue providing international participants with a perspective-altering, meaningfully challenging and once-in-a-lifetime experience. Simultaneously we’re excited to continue providing our program partners, stakeholders and community partners a surplus in support as we help them to build towards their aims.
The following reports offer a deep dive into the successes and learnings of the previous year in both Fiji and Bali. They highlight key feedback, statistics and other trends so that all may understand the extent of our impact and the direction we are taking as we continue moving towards ‘Think Global’.
On behalf of the entire TP team. I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has contributed in any way to the TP Foundation across the past year and I hope you enjoy reading and reflecting on what has been a momentous year – Tom Scrase.
