Prime Minister's Scholarship - Global Mobility
In Partnership with Government Ministries & 70+ Inspiring Local Organisations across the Asia-Pacific Region
Are you exploring global opportunities for your students including funded places under the Education New Zealand’s Prime Minister’s Scholarship?
Since 2009, Think Pacific has worked in collaboration with colleges, universities and other organisations to offer short-term outbound mobility projects to the Fiji Islands…and we are now excited to be expanding with new programs to Bali, Indonesia in 2024.
As you may be aware, in New Zealand, there is financial support available through the Prime Minister’s Scholarship to fully fund your learners for our projects in Bali, Indonesia.
Students will join a team and live in a traditional Balinese community just outside Ubud, Bali’s cultural hub. Through this community immersion, students will learn about Bali’s fascinating culture first hand whilst undertaking rewarding professional experiences. Our programmes align with specific employability outcomes for students, whilst making a positive and responsible contribution to local initiatives through our unique model of registered in-country organisations that exist to support existing government and community aims.
This is a unique opportunity for students to view this paradise island through a local lens, where perspectives are challenged, skills are developed and lifelong memories and friendships are made.

It is Education New Zealand’s initiative to provide funding for international opportunities in education and training in various countries across Asia and South America. Each year there is $3.7 million NZD available which has facilitated 3000+ students to access valuable experiential learning opportunities that enhance their employability and broaden their world perspectives.
Our programmes can be designed to meet the requirements and budgets of the scheme, to ensure that the following costs are fully covered for students: accommodation, in-country travel, food, flights, placement and itinerary & field trips.

Since 2009, Think Pacific has built a reputation as an award winning provider of global programmes for educational institutions, creating close and trusted working relationships with Further Education and Higher Education staff.
We’re passionate about providing transformational experiences for students that bridge the gap between education and work, whilst supporting institutions to achieve outbound mobility aims within their international strategy.

“The organisation of the projects is always second to none”. Chris Gale, Program Manager, Global Opportunities. Our 5-year partnership has seen over 250 Cardiff students volunteer in Fiji
“Think Pacific really understand the needs of students”. Cara McCosh, Program Manager, Leeds Beckett Study Abroad. Think Pacific designed its first bespoke student project for the Carnegie Faculty.

The first step is to arrange a meeting with one of our Partnership Directors. We will discuss your programme objectives, discuss your requirements for your Prime Minister’s Scholarship bid, as well as touching on international programme delivery and case studies relevant to your interests.

During our discussion we can identify which program suits your needs better, or if preferred we can work with our international team in Bali to design a bespoke programme for your learning objectives.

We will support your institution in your bid to Education New Zealand to ensure your project is funded for learners. Think Pacific will provide core content and documents to assist your team to write a successful proposal.

Think Pacific’s Partnership Manager will host a meeting with you to guide you through a promotional plan so you can easily share the project amongst your learners. This can include online presentations delivered by us, email content, blog content, a specific webpage, programme documents or flyers for you to use.

We will work with you every step of the way to support your students as your require. This may include arranging applications and interviews with students, undertaking risk assessments and completing health and safety requirements, supporting you to arrange flights and leading pre-departure preparation sessions. We will also assist with all pre-project requirements under the Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme.

Our staff will be at the airport to greet your students upon arrival! Think Pacific provide 24/7 support, guiding each day and ensuring a smooth programme from start to finish. Each day of the itinerary will be delivered by our team. We shall also undertake all necessary post project reporting for the Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme.
We guide 6 week projects that offer groups of students from across the world, the chance to live at the heart of a traditional Balinese village, whilst working alongside local people on inspiring initiatives which support locally led aims.

At Think Pacific, we believe that an internship abroad should not only enhance your CV – It should develop your global perspectives, increase your skills and confidence, be accessible, and help you discover your passions through exciting real-world experience.
Our Global Team Internship (GTI) has been designed to help students bridge the gap between university and graduate employment in a globalized workforce by combining unique work experience with cultural immersion and a team-based adventure.

On our Mental Health Placement in Bali, students will work as part of a team to deliver psycho-social group activities at a selection of our trusted partner projects and local initiatives. Our aim is to support both individual and community mental health and well-being through the delivery of this professional placement.
Students learn from local professionals to develop their understanding of mental health in a global context. The internships will focus on community wellbeing, and allocate time to working with local people to exchange ideas and promote wellbeing through local initiatives.
