Welcome to This Short Course!

This course is an introduction to the set of skills and competencies that comprise the term ‘career readiness’ and are required to successfully transition into the workplace, college, the military, or other postsecondary opportunities.

For new college graduates, career readiness is key to ensuring successful entrance into the workforce. Career readiness is the foundation upon which a successful career is launched. Career readiness is, quite simply, the new career currency.

This module is broken down into five key skill areas:

  • Critical Thinking, Communication, Emotional Intelligence and Stress Management.
  • There is also an interview preparation and Linkedin introductory course.
  • Finally, there is a reflection and activity modules..

Module 2: Interview Preparation

Dive into this module and come out with the confidence to perform effectively and professionally when interviewing. First, we will look at the differences between a successful candidate and an unsuccessful candidate in an interview to give you an understanding of the importance of formal etiquette while sitting an interview. Following on from this, you will learn how to research a company before an interview to show your keen interest in the business and job. Finally, we will discuss the breakdown of a job description to understand and analyse possible interview questions.

In this module, we will look at the benefits of creating a Linkedin profile for your professional growth. Here, you will learn how to develop a profile that showcases your professional achievements and goals, make meaningful connections to build your network and further improve your chances of gaining a job offer, and finally, participating in conversations through the platform to advance your network growth, establishing a well-developed profile which will encourage you in your career growth.
