See Moana in a Whole New Light

Published 02/07/2018

Moana is an amazing film!

It’s an all-time classic.

But there’s one thing that’ll make watching Moana even better.

Can you guess what that is? 🤔

Yep, you guessed it! If you’ve ever volunteered in the Fiji Islands then it’s a film that’ll resonate deep with your own personal experiences. By going to Fiji, it sheds a whole new light onto the film – you’ll spot things you recognise and things you personally experienced.

You’ll also have a deep appreciation and understanding of the culture celebrated throughout the film.

Moana is set in the South Pacific and perfectly showcases the community, culture and overall adventure that awaits anyone going to that part of the world. Although it is an animated Disney film, it helps illustrate why we fell in love with the Pacific islands and why we are so passionate about supporting these communities.

Check out the trailer below if you’ve never seen it before.

Ok, so if you volunteer in Fiji you probably won’t end up fighting evil coconuts or demigods, but you will certainly get to experience the incredible settings, people and atmosphere that makes Moana such an amazing adventure.

For those joining us out in Fiji for a project, make sure you watch Moana when you get back. Or if you’ve got time, watch it before you go to get a sneak peak of what awaits you in the South Pacific.
