University Funding

There are grants available from the International team at Anglia Ruskin University, via the UK Government’s Turing Scheme.

Financial support ranges from £980 – £3,300 to contribute to the project fees and flight costs. The amount provided depends on the participants circumstances.

Students can also fundraise to contribute towards the remaining costs.

Application Process
  1. Apply online to Think Pacific, before 15th Feb 2024.
  2. Apply for University funding and check your eligibility by completing this form.
  3. You will be contacted to arrange an online interview with Think Pacific.
  4. If selected, you must confirm your place before 16th Feb 2024.

What Funding is Available?

The Turing Scheme provides different funding amounts dependant on the participants circumstances. Please see below the different funding rates available

1. Funding Rate 1 = Widening Participation Students

    • Total Amount Available = Between £2,700 – £3,300 per student
      • £590 Turing Cost of Living Grant
      • £800 Turing Organisational Support
      • £1,360 Turing Scheme Flights Grant
      • Apply for up to £500 Go International Funding

 

2. Funding Rate 2 = Non-Widening Participation Students

    • Total Amount Available = £1,390 per student 
      • £480 Turing Cost of Living Grant
      • £500 Turing Organisational Support
What is the Criteria to be Eligible for Funding?

1. Funding Rate 1 = between £2,700 – £3,130 per student

This is available to Level 5 (2nd year) and Level 6 (3rd year) students enrolled at ARU Cambridge, ARU Chelmsford, ARU-Peterborough who meet the following criteria:

  • Students in receipt of the ARU Bursary
  • BAME students
  • Mature students
  • Students with Declared Disabilities
  • Gypsies, Travellers, Roma, Showmen and Boaters
  • Students on the ARU Widening Access to Medicine Scheme (WAMS) scheme
  • Students with a home address in an area of low progression to higher education (POLAR4 Quintile 1 or 2)
  • Participants with an annual household income of £25,000 or less
  • Participants receiving Universal Credit or income-related benefits.
  • Participants who are care experienced. This refers to anyone who has been or is currently in care or from a looked after background at any stage of their life.
  • Participants who have caring responsibilities.
  • Refugees and asylum seeker

 

2. Funding Rate 2 = £1,390 per student 

This is available to Level 5 (2nd year) and Level 6 (3rd year) students enrolled at ARU Cambridge, ARU Chelmsford, ARU-Peterborough.
